Janelle Teng is a vice president in the San Francisco office where she focuses primarily on growth investments in cloud software, infrastructure, and developer platforms. She specializes in product strategy and product-led growth go-to-market execution for companies scaling past the Series B stage. Currently, Janelle serves as a board observer for Claroty, Databook, Netlify, Smule, and Virtru. She also works closely with product-led companies such as Canva, Imply Data, and Statespace.

Janelle develops many of Bessemer’s PLG frameworks, roadmaps, and benchmarks. Additionally, Janelle is a co-author of Bessemer’s annual State of the Cloud Report and Bessemer Growth’s Scaling to $100MM Series. She is also a primary contributor to the firm’s initiatives around The Cloud 100 and the BVP Nasdaq Emerging Cloud Index.

Before joining Bessemer, Janelle was a product manager at SalesforceIQ (formerly RelateIQ) where she led mobile development for Salesforce Inbox and was part of the team that created Einstein Email Insights. She began her career as a business analyst at McKinsey and Company.

A science enthusiast at heart, Janelle studied human biology and economics at Stanford University, where she graduated with academic distinction and departmental honors. She also earned an MBA at Harvard Business School. Outside of work, you can find Janelle trying to beat her personal record on her indoor cycling bike or jumping off cliffs on her snowboard.
