Catherine Andersz

Advisor & Investor. Co-Founder, Board Director and former CEO of PDFTron Systems Inc.

As Co-Founder & CEO of PDFTron for nearly 20 years, Catherine Andersz led the PDFTron/Xodo team in realizing its vision to transform the way the world works with documents and digital content. Catherine spearheaded the company’s growth into a unicorn and the industry’s recognized premier provider of document technology powering digital transformation across hundreds of enterprises, including the top Fortune 100s.

Catherine has been instrumental in growing the team, culture, business strategy, along with the partners and funding needed for PDFTron to succeed. The company’s successful bootstrapped growth led to being recognized as one of the top 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America by Deloitte, followed by two major investments from top tier private equity firms within a span of two years – the first led by Silversmith Capital in 2019 with $95M CAD, and by Thoma Bravo’s additional strategic investment in 2021.

Under Catherine’s leadership, PDFTron further accelerated its organic growth through M&A with 9 highly strategic acquisitions completed in just over 2 years, cementing its leadership position and expanding its geographic footprint, with over 315 employees worldwide. She recently stepped down from her role as CEO following the milestone iText acquisition, to transition to an advisory role as a Board Director and continues to be a significant shareholder in the company.

Throughout it all, Catherine continues as a highly engaged member of the document technology community. Serving as an elected board member of the PDF Association for the last 4 years, she helps steer the future of the international (ISO) PDF standard and thus also the evolution of the document software industry. Catherine holds a Bachelor of International Relations degree from the University of British Columbia.
