Ayo is a dynamic finance executive and strategic leader in venture capital and private equity, with nearly two decades of progressive experience spanning Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Capital Markets, Business Transformation, and Tech & Innovation. He has a proven track record of advising on large ticket transactions, managing large-scale investment portfolios, driving capital market strategy, and structuring deals to optimize returns and impact. As the Executive Director of Entrepreneurial Capital at Alberta Innovates, he oversees a portfolio of non-dilutive capital designed to catalyze and accelerate venture growth and commercialization. He also leads capital access initiatives focused on connecting innovative technologies and businesses with the private capital necessary for growth and scaling.
Leveraging an extensive local and global network, Ayo brings a unique strategic advantage to Alberta’s innovation ecosystem. His deep expertise in venture capital and private equity, combined with entrepreneurial experience, positions him as a sought-after business advisor, coach, and ecosystem builder. Over the past eight years, he has been instrumental in shaping transformational initiatives at Alberta Innovates while also strengthening the organization’s positioning and and impact within the innovation landscape.
Ayo holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences, and a Master of Science in Finance & Investment from London Metropolitan University, UK. He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) with specialized training in Innovation Through Design Thinking from McGill University, Quebec.
