Jaco Burger

Jaco Burger is an entrepreneur, venture builder, and now tech startup ecosystem builder. He founded two businesses of his own, built a venture for a high net worth investor, and led a university commercialization team that launched five more, growing the team from 7 to 33 people along the way. He completed his MBA because he wanted sharper tools for problems he was already solving. As Chief Innovation Officer at Volta, he co-designed the coaching systems behind hundreds of AI-first startups and integrated AI into the operating model while most were still talking about it. Today he leads programming and innovation at Platform Calgary, building the support systems founders need in the age of AI and leading the organization’s own AI capabilities. Underneath it all is a first career as a sport scientist and strength and conditioning coach on the ATP World Tour, where he learned that talent gets you to the table but never keeps you there.
