CEO & Founder

Walter Software

Ryan Wilson is a serial entrepreneur with a career built around founding, scaling, and successfully exiting technology companies. Over the past two decades, Ryan has been directly involved in the creation and sale of multiple businesses, giving him deep, firsthand experience in M&A and what it takes to build companies to scale.

Ryan is the Founder and CEO of Walter Software, Canada’s leading agentic work platform for law firms, now used by 2 of the 3 largest law firms in Canada. Ryan founded Walter alongside Jon Conlin, widely regarded as Canada’s leading M&A partner and the lawyer who led the sale of Ryan’s previous business, and Karl Campbell, the founder of a company Ryan had acquired in that same prior role. Together, they saw an opportunity to fundamentally reinvent how legal work is done—not with generic generative AI, but through deeply integrated, purpose-built agentic workflows designed for real legal practice.

While platforms like Harvey and Legora—often compared to Cursor and Copilot—represent the first wave of legal AI, Walter was built for the next one. If those tools are copilots, Walter is Claude Code for legal AI: a system designed to transform how work is executed, not just how text is generated. Under Ryan’s leadership, Walter enables lawyers to deliver dramatically more value per hour, improve quality, move faster, and enjoy practicing law more.

At TechExit, Ryan brings a founder’s perspective on building companies, executing exits, and creating category-defining enterprise software.
