Alex Lane joined Stifel Canada in March 2020 as Director, Origination in Investment Banking and as a coverage banker in our Diversified Industries Group primarily focused on Technology and Consumer businesses. At Stifel, Alex has helped to take a number of Consumer and Technology companies public including GURU Organic Energy, Flow Water, Payfare and Tribe Property Technologies. Alex has also worked on numerous corporate finance deals, M&A advisory assignments and cross-border listings.
Previous to Stifel, Alex spent 22 years in the investment management industry, most recently as an award-winning Vice-President and Portfolio Manager at one of the largest bank-owned asset managers. There, Alex and his team were responsible for managing over $3 billion of growth equity mandates, both domestically and globally and across the capitalization spectrum that were distributed through multiple institutional, high net worth and retail channels. Alex was recognized by Brendan Wood International as a TopGun Investment Mind (Platinum Class) for 6 consecutive years.
Mr. Lane earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University in 1997 and is a CFA charterholder.
