Austin Johnsen is a seasoned corporate development leader with nearly two decades of experience. He joined Zapier in 2023 as the company’s inaugural head of corporate development. In this role, he focuses on developing and managing Zapier’s end-to-end M&A process including strategy, sourcing, deal negotiation, diligence, and integration. Additionally, he oversees Zapier’s growing investment portfolio. Prior to Zapier, Austin held leadership roles at Patreon, and Twitch (an Amazon company), where he led various acquisitions and corporate strategy initiatives, while also building out the corporate development function at those companies. Austin began his career in corporate development at Twitter and, before moving in-house, Austin spent several years as an investment banker and private equity investor. Austin earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and holds an undergrad degree from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
