Jon Wolkin

VC & Investment Lead, TELUS Ventures

With over 12 years of experience as a venture, private equity investor and investment banker, Jon leads the sourcing, execution and post investment support of TELUS Ventures’ investments in the digital health and consumer sectors, while also providing strategic insights into the growth and M&A strategies for the TELUS Health and TELUS Consumer business units. Jon played a lead role in TELUS’ investments in virtual health companies Akira (acquired by TELUS), MindBeacon (IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange), RecoveryOne, next-gen consumer health experiences provider League and TELUS Health’s acquisition of Medisys Health Group.

Jon’s experience working with portfolio companies across various stages of maturity informs how he evaluates investment opportunities and works with portfolio companies. He plays an active role as a board director for portfolio companies iSmash, League, and Recoveryone, in addition to sitting as a board observer for TELUS Ventures investments Integrate AI, Lumeto, and Techsee.

Prior to joining TELUS Ventures, Jon was an Investment Associate at the Private Equity arm of the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan evaluating and supporting investments in the telecom, health and consumer segments. He started his career as an investment banker at Scotia Capital focusing on the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors.

Jon is a Toronto native and an active sports fan. When he’s not trying to beat his best run time – he’s completed three half-marathons – Jon can be found watching or playing basketball, baseball or spending time with his young and growing family.

Jon has an HBA degree (with distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
