Chris Longley, CPA, CA, is a Partner and Business Advisor in MNP’s Assurance and Accounting group in Toronto and a member of the firm’s Technology, Media and Telecommunications team. Chris works closely with venture capital funds, investment funds, and high-growth technology companies, providing practical audit, accounting, tax, and advisory support across financial reporting, fund operations, and related compliance requirements.
Chris helps clients navigate complex accounting, reporting, tax, and operational challenges throughout the business lifecycle. His experience includes fund structures, limited partner reporting, distribution waterfalls, management fee and carried interest arrangements, valuations, and cross-border matters. He also advises founder-led and venture-backed companies on financial reporting, financing transactions, acquisitions, governance, shareholder matters, growth strategies, and preparing for significant business milestones such as capital raises, acquisitions, and exits. Chris is recognized for his practical, relationship-focused approach and his ability to deliver clear solutions to complex business issues.
Chris’s services include financial statement audits and reviews, financial reporting and accounting advisory, fund and portfolio company support, performance management, and customized business advice. His clients include venture capital funds, investment fund platforms, software and technology businesses, app and hardware developers, telecommunications companies, and other high-growth private enterprises.
Chris obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) from Lakehead University in 2013. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (CA) in 2015.
