Kevin left his family’s apiary on the Canadian prairies for Silicon Valley, trading beehives for building high-growth technology companies as an operator and investor. He is currently a Venture Partner at Luge Capital, a fintech-focused venture capital fund.
Kevin’s career bridges startups, venture capital, and financial services. After early roles in technology startups he joined Inovia Capital where he invested in early-stage tech companies across the US and Canada. He then moved to portfolio company AppDirect in San Francisco as VP of Corporate Development, fueling its transformation from startup to unicorn. Returning to Canada, he served as VP of Corporate Development at Calgary-based Solium Capital, driving strategy and acquisitions that culminated in Solium’s $1.1Bn acquisition by Morgan Stanley in 2019. At Morgan Stanley, he continued as Managing Director and Head of Private Market Solutions, leading private market liquidity initiatives and ecosystem development within wealth management.
A mechanical engineer by training, Kevin holds a BSc from the University of Alberta and an MS from Stanford University, specializing in mechatronics and control systems. He resides outside of Calgary with his wife and four children where they can often be found in hockey rinks or in mountains.
