Lauren has worked in politics, law, and investing, and her experience in venture capital spans nearly a decade, during which she has worked with notable firms such as StandUp Ventures and OMERS Ventures, as well as her family office. In these roles, she has been instrumental in sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, supporting portfolio companies, and fostering growth in the Canadian technology ecosystem. Lauren’s background as a litigation lawyer at a leading Toronto commercial litigation firm and her clerkship at the Ontario Court of Appeal have further honed her analytical and strategic skills.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Lauren is deeply committed to mentorship and community engagement. She serves as a Mentor at the Creative Destruction Lab, a mentor for NEXT Canada’s Next 36 program, and has held advisory positions with various accelerators and incubators. She is an ardent innovation advocate, and her passion for supporting entrepreneurs has made her highly respected and connected within the Canadian tech ecosystem.
Lauren is also committed to her philanthropic and community work with the Sinai Health Foundation, the City of Toronto, and Havergal College. Her dedication to both the business world and her community exemplifies her passion to contribute to Canada’s innovation and philanthropic landscapes.
Lauren holds a B.A. in Government, cum laude, from Harvard University and completed the joint JD/MBA program at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and the Rotman School of Management, graduating first in her class in the MBA program and as the gold medalist among the JD/MBA students.
